SHORT BIO
Philippe Blache is a researcher at the CNRS, he is the director of the ILCB (Institute of Language, Communication and the Brain). His field of research is the cognitive modeling of language processing in its interactional context (spoken language processing, multimodal communication, human-machine communication). His works cover both theoretical and applied aspects. He has contributed to the development of constraint based approaches in the theoretical framework of Construction Grammars, and applies them for the analysis of complexity factors of language. He has developed different tools and applications (automatic parsers, assisted communication for the disabled, conversational agents, dialogue systems). Since a more recent period, he studies the cerebral bases of language processing. Philippe Blache has been director of several CNRS laboratories.
